Founded in 2003 in Northern Virginia, Phoenix Steel Erectors has grown to be a leader in the steel erection industry.  What separates PSE from our competition is our commitment to being the premier steel erector in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Although we are capable of erecting any structure, we specialize in unusual and complex projects.  Every project receives the same level of attention regardless of it’s size.  Our number one goal is to provide our customers with unmatched safety, production, and customer service.  The staff at Phoenix has taken our big erector experience and created a company that gives you all the industry leading technology with small business efficiency.

Paul Kollman

Principal

Paul joined Phoenix Steel in February 2013, bringing over 20 years of management experience with large steel erectors specializing in high-profile projects. He leads the company’s sales and business development efforts while also overseeing financial operations and contract administration, ensuring both strong client relationships and sound operational performance.

Tony Adams

Principal

Tony has been with Phoenix Steel since it’s founding in 2003. He began his career in the field as a foreman, served as our operations manager, and now oversees all company field operations. With decades of hands-on experience, his hard work and dedication have played a vital role to the continued growth, efficiency, and operational performance of Phoenix Steel.

Kendall Ray

Director Pre-Construction

Kendall joined Phoenix Steel in September 2017.  Mr. Ray has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the structural steel industry working for fabricators serving the Mid-Atlantic States.  He will be responsible for front end project coordination with customers in addition to sales and estimating responsibilities.

Jon Gardenhour

Senior Project Manager

Jon joined Phoenix Steel in February of 2021. Mr. Gardenhour’s background consist of field and management experience for both residential and commercial projects. Prior to joining Phoenix, he worked as a superintendent for both small and mid- size general contractors. He will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the day-to-day operations for projects located in both Maryland and D.C.

Cody Giles-Tucker

Project Manager

Cody joined Phoenix Steel in April of 2025. Cody’s background consists of oversight and project management for a mid-level general contractor. He will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the day-to-day operations for projects located in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia.

Mark Davidson

Safety Manager

Mark joined Phoenix Steel in March 2021 as our first full-time Safety Manager. He holds OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications and is certified in fall protection training, along with maintaining First Aid/CPR and other safety officer credentials. Mark oversees field safety operations, conducts training both onsite and at our headquarters, performs safety audits, administers our light duty program, and supports overall company safety compliance initiatives. He also brings valuable experience and knowledge from his background in law enforcement.

Leonardo Sosa

Assistant Safety Manager/Onsite Safety

Leo joined Phoenix Steel in September 2025 as part of our safety team. He brings over four years of construction safety monitoring experience in government and commercial environments and holds OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications. Leonardo conducts jobsite inspections, assists with training, helps enforce company safety efforts, and works closely with crews to maintain compliance and promote a safe work environment. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, which helps strengthen communication across our workforce.

Katie Sirstins

Accounting Manager

Katie joined Phoenix Steel in September of 2018.  She has a background in data analysis and is responsible for book keeping and payroll functions.  She also assists in purchasing, IT administration, and drawing inventory, as well as assisting operations in project management and customer relations.

Aly Flores

Human Resources Specialist

Aly joined Phoenix Steel in August 2019 as a Admin Assistant and has since grown into her current role as HR Specialist. With a strong foundation in customer service and administrative operations, she now oversees employee benefits, including 401(k), health insurance, and manages workers’ compensation. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Aly supports the entire Phoenix team and acts as a vital liaison for our non-English speaking employees.
